These fake toy catalog pages are inspired by the many magazines and advertisements and I saw as a child. They are meant to be playful and nostalgic, while also showcasing high-quality, professional photographs of the different toys.
Each toy was photographed in a studio setting from multiple angles, then edited using Adobe Photoshop. The three pages were constructed in that same program, using the shots most appropriate for the design combined with additional graphics I created and one stock photo. The page design was informed by a mood board I constructed that drew from existing toy catalogs and toy ads, as well as colorful crafts supplies like wrapping paper.
A colorful collage-style moodboard. The background is white, and covered in rainbows of circles, sparkling stars and zig-zags. A puffy speech bubble in the top left corner says "Nobody knows how to talk to kids like See'n Say takling toys" Below it is a zig-zagging line of toy magazine pages, some with simple abstract shape backgrounds with toys on top, some depicting full scenes using the toys. One is a drawing of a robot on a planets surface. Near the center is a small picutre showing off a plastic unicorn toy. At the bottom is a old-fashioned drawing of monster bike spinner toys layered over an abstract design mimicking its composition, a shape constructed with colorful triangles that reads "Toy Sale" and a collection of close-ups on graphics displaying prices.
